Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine
An Old Unchanged Legacy
Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM has a history of thousands of years and has changed minimally over the years. TCM comes from a belief that there is a life force that runs through our body called Qi.there are opposite and complementary forces that makeup Qi called Yin and Yang. When there is an imbalance in Qi caused by alterations in Yin and Yang, illness occurs. To regain this balance you need to achieve a balance between your internal organs and the external elements namely earth, fire, wood, and metal. The treatments done to regain this balance are Acupuncture, Moxibustion (the burning of herbal leaves on or near the body), Cupping (the use of warmed glass jars to create suction on certain points of the body), Massage, Herbal remedies, and Movement and concentration exercises (such as tai chi)
Here’s how Traditional Chinese Medicine can work for you.
People use TCM for a lot of issues from Carpel Tunnel to stress. It is mainly believed to be prescribed for short-term usage rather than long-term dosage. It is sometimes also used complementary to medical treatments. TCM can be the treatment for you if have a lot of different symptoms with no clear cause, need to treat side effects from drugs, have tried western medicine but didn’t get results, or want to prevent illness.
